SMTP virtual server is a server that acts as a client for sending e-mail messages. Each SMTP virtual server represents an instance of the SMTP service on a server. You can set up your own default virtual SMTP server to send and receive local emails. Using Internet Information Services, you can configure your virtual SMTP server. Many scripts requires local SMTP server IP address to relay messages like FrontPage submit forms requires local SMTP server IP address to send/receive emails.
